LGBRC
Community Involvement Activities
The LGBRC promotes cycling
at the grass roots level through closely supervised
training and education. Aside from teaching
bicycle safety at schools and community health
fairs, parents of young racers have organized
a youth race/training program designed to maximize
young people's potential on and off the bike.
We provide significant support and including extensive
board membership for San Jose's Hellyer Park Velodrome
(www.ridethetrack.com). The
LGBRC has devoted significant time to the town of Los
Gatos and is an ambassador member of its Chamber of
Commerce. We support local charitable organizations
such as Los Gatos Education Foundation (LGEF) and other
various community and national programs. In 2009
the LGBRC chose the Los Gatos High School Marching
Band as our designated charity. Finally, the
LGBRC donates all our unsold team kits to bicycling
organizations in Mexico and Rwanda. The LGBRC
is truly an outstanding member of the world community.
- Los Gatos Children's Parade in December
The oldest Children's parade in the nation, our participation allows the town to learn about the LGBRC and support our Cat's Hill Criterium
