Becky is a Cat 4 LGBRC member who joined
the club in 2007 with her family
- her dad Rich,
mother Kim, and her sister Shelly.
Becky excels at track and criterium racing.
When asked how she first got involved in
cycling, she replied, "I
first became involved in cycling
when I was still in first or second grade,
starting out on a mountain bike
and riding around parking lots. About two
years ago, my dad started riding at the Hellyer
Park Velodrome and I decided to
try it too. Not long afterwards, my parents
bought me a road bike. Since then,
I've participated in nearly every Sunday
Junior Track Session, about five crits, and
even a Tuesday track session."
She adds, "I
think my greatest racing achievement
was placing in my first race, the
Memorial Day Crit. Out of five
other 13-14 junior girls, I placed
third - quite an achievement for someone
who was new to racing, I think."
She continues, "I
enjoy riding up Highway 9, Pierce,
and Mt. Eden. My goal is to participate
either in a half century, a metric century,
or even a whole century."
- editor's
note: admirable goals, which we're sure
Becky will attain!
